#47 THE HARTWOOD: GOURMET AND GRIND

NEW WEEKS, NEW CAFES.

Recently, many new cafes and resto turn up in Bandung. This time, I experienced The Hartwood Gourmet and Grind. Established in December 2011, Hartwood got a very wide range of food, range from western, cakes, desserts, to indonesians.

From the front looks, Hartwood was really eye-catching. The glass ornaments and neon lights just stunned me a lot. This area was divided into two, indoor (non-smoking area) and outdoor (smoking area). I really fell for them, it's just simply beautiful.

What's on the table? Here they are!

Thai Braised Ribs

Thai Braised Ribs (47k)
For me, this braised ribs was so luscious. The meat here was really tender and well-done. For the soup itself, it tasted spicy, sweet, yet sour. It's perfect to enjoy it with rice and melinjo crackers. I gotta raised my thumbs for it.

Grilled Chicken Penne Alfredo

Grilled Chicken Penne Alfredo (36k)
Penne pasta topped with grilled chicken and served with veggies.
As one of their recommended menu, this penne and chicken dishes was really satisfying. The tender chicken and perfect-cooked pasta was a great match.

Oven Baked Norwegian Salmon

Oven Baked Norwegian Salmon (59k)
A baked salmon served with veggies and baby potatoes.
Being the most expensive among the two others, this one was not that good. The salmon here was a bit overcooked and too fishy.

Homemade Iced Tea

I simply loved this tea. It's not an ordinary one. There's a fresh fruit hidden in the bottom.

Chocolate Rainbow Cake
Chocolate Rainbow Cake (45k)
Like no other rainbow cake, this time, I tried the chocolate one. It looked so appetizing and consisted of  seven layer. The cake was moist enough and all the layer just tasted the same. For me, it's quite good. Even, I expected for more heavenly chocolate.

To sum it up, The Hartwood was a really great place with average foods. I found the service here was nice and hospitable. The price ranges from 20k to 110k. It's quite affordable for a nice place like this. If you're looking for some cozy place to dine or chit chat, you should give it a try!
